The Envornment and Woodlands Links

Woodlands is the only golf course in all of Huron and Perth counties with the Certified Audubon Accreditation from the Audubon Cooperative Sanctuary System of Canada! This was accomplished by adhering requirements in the areas of:

Wildlife and Habitat Management
-    Established corridors for wildlife movement and buffers around water areas.
-    Established tree plantations and incorporated large environmentally sensitive areas.

Water Quality and Conservation
-    Reduced irrigation using naturally drought resistant grasses and monitoring soil moisture.
-    Established wells are in place for testing nitrates to ensure water quality.

Integrated Pest Management
- Strategic monitoring for reduced use of pesticides.

Out Reach and Education:
An Arboretum has been established with connecting nature trails. It consists of approximately 120 tree species, arranged into grouping by leaf composition. The arboretum is used by both the general public and schools as a learning center. For more information or tours please contact Gordon Lobb.
